Drain Blaster Heads and Adapters: Which One for Toilets, Sinks and Floor Drains

A drain blaster is only as good as its seal. The head, or adapter, is the part that creates that seal, so choosing the right one for each drain matters more than the tool itself. This guide explains which drain blaster head fits which drain, how to get a tight seal, and which spare parts retailers should stock for after-sales service.

Why the head matters
An air-pressure drain blaster pushes a burst of air against the water in the drain. If the head does not seal, the air escapes around it instead of pushing the blockage. A wrong-size head is the most common reason a drain blaster “does not work”.
A good head does three things: it covers the whole drain opening, it sits flat without rocking, and it stays in place when the burst is released. For a full explanation of the principle, see our guide on how air-pressure drain blasters work.
Which head for which drain
These are the heads and adapters in our accessory range. Each is matched to a drain type.
| Head or adapter | Use it on | Check before ordering |
|---|---|---|
| Standard toilet head | Western-style toilets | Outlet shape and connector |
| Squat-toilet head | Squat toilets | Opening size and host model |
| Kitchen-sink head | Kitchen sinks and washbasins (shown diameter approx. 110 mm) | Drain opening size |
| Floor-drain head | Floor drains in bathrooms, balconies and utility rooms | Drain diameter |
| Elbow conversion adapter | Angled connections | Thread and connector dimensions |
| Drain-cleaner connector | Fitting a head to a different host tool | Host model and interface |

Squat toilets: a must for Southeast Asian ranges
Squat toilets are still common in homes, schools and public buildings in many Southeast Asian countries. A head designed for Western-style toilets usually cannot seal on a squat-toilet outlet. If you sell into these markets, include a squat-toilet head in the kit or offer it as an add-on. It costs little and prevents returns from customers who say the tool “does not fit”.
How to get a tight seal
- Match the head to the opening. The head should cover the drain completely, with a little rubber resting on the surface around it.
- Keep water above the head. Water helps the rubber seal and carries the force to the blockage. Add water if the drain is dry.
- Seal every other opening. Cover the overflow hole of a basin or bath, and the second drain of a double sink, with a wet cloth or a stopper. Otherwise the air escapes there and water can splash back.
- Press down firmly and hold the tool upright while you release the pressure.
- Use the elbow adapter where the drain or connection sits at an angle and a straight head cannot sit flat.
Spare parts for after-sales kits
Heads wear out, pumps get lost and chargers break. Retailers and distributors who stock spare parts keep customers using the tool and reduce returns. Our spare-parts range includes:
- Manual inflation head with hose and hand bulb
- Automatic inflation head for rechargeable units
- Manual hand pump for models with a separate pump, such as HX-SD. Because the pump is separate, it can be replaced on its own.
- Charger for rechargeable lithium-battery units such as LD-001, LD-002, HX-001 and HX-003

Compatibility first. Before ordering spare parts, send us the host model, the connector dimensions and the drain type. For chargers, confirm the voltage, plug type and polarity for the destination market.
Which heads come with our main models
| Model | Type | Heads and accessories in the kit |
|---|---|---|
| HX-012 | Manual, pump built into the barrel | Toilet, sink and floor-drain adapters |
| HX-SD | Manual, separate hand pump | Interchangeable heads; gauge on selected versions |
| HX-028 | Manual, stainless-steel barrel | Interchangeable cups and sealing pad |
| HX-001 | Rechargeable lithium battery | Toilet and sink adapters, charger |
| HX-003 | Rechargeable lithium battery, gauge on handle | Adapters; simple box or carry case |
| LD-001 / LD-002 | Rechargeable, removable battery | Adapter heads, charger and storage case |
The exact contents of each kit are confirmed with the approved sample. We can add or remove heads, for example a squat-toilet head for Southeast Asia, as part of your order.
FAQ
Can one drain blaster fit every drain?
One tool can cover most household drains, but only with the right head for each opening. A standard toilet head, a kitchen-sink head and a floor-drain head are the usual minimum set.
Which head do I need for a squat toilet?
A dedicated squat-toilet head. A head made for Western-style toilets usually does not seal on a squat-toilet outlet.
Why does air escape around the head?
The head is the wrong size, it is not pressed down firmly, or another opening such as an overflow hole is still open. Check the fit first, then seal every other opening.
Can I buy heads and chargers separately?
Yes. Heads, adapters, chargers and hand pumps are available as separate parts. Send the host model and connector dimensions so we can confirm the fit.
Is the charger the same for every country?
No. Voltage, plug type and polarity must match the tool and the destination market. Tell us the country before ordering.
Build a complete drain-care range
Tell us your models, target markets and the drain types your customers have. We will suggest the right head set for each kit, plus a spare-parts list for after-sales service. Logo, colour and packaging can be customised, and the minimum order is usually 50–200 pieces per model.
